Why orphans hold a special place in Islam
Caring for orphans carries great weight in Islam; the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was himself raised as an orphan. Many donors therefore choose to take on a sponsorship covering a full term rather than a one-off gift.
Helping once instead of sponsoring
If a sponsorship does not suit you, you can still support orphans with a single donation – for example Bayramlik (festival clothing), a contribution to our orphanage project, or a donation towards Hafiz education.

An orphan donation covers the basic needs of children who have lost their mother or father, keeps them in education and helps them look to the future with hope.
You can take on a 6- or 12-month Hafiz sponsorship covering an orphaned student's accommodation, food and education; give a general orphan donation for the basic needs of orphaned children in our project countries; or help with a clothing donation, an Eid gift donation or an Eid outfit donation.
Your donation is used directly for the children's food, clothing, accommodation, health care and education. Clothing and similar aid is not shipped from Europe — it is bought locally with your donation, which cuts logistics costs and gets help there faster.
The orphanage project is a long-term project giving children who have lost both parents a safe home, regular schooling and a family environment. The children receive accommodation, meals, education and health care, along with guidance to help them find their place in society.
